2 blocks of former Singapore Improvement Trust (SIT) flats have been converted into a hotel and there is a new walkway bridging the 2 buildings over Tiong Bahru Road. The charm and cultural history of these two buildings are part of this heritage have been be retained.

Note: SIT is the predecessor to today´s Housing Development Board (HDB), and built affordable housing for workers. Tiong Bahru is one of the oldest housing estates in Singapore.
