Uniquely Singapore Yacht This is a magnificent 68-ft, state-of-the-art racing yacht is representing Singapore in this challenging 10-month, 35,000 nautical mile race and upon arrival in Singapore, would have covered almost half of its route.
Skippered by Richard Falk with 21 Singaporeans among its crew, many of whom are novices, the Uniquely Singapore Clipper has done creditably well. In the first leg of Clipper Round the World Race 2005/2006, it came in fourth in Cascais, Portugal then sixth in Salvador, Brazil. For the second leg, it was neck and neck with Liverpool to finish a joint fifth in Durban. In the third leg, it weathered the difficult conditions of the Southern Ocean and arrived in Fremantle in ninth place. On the fourth leg, the fleet will depart Fremantle for the fifth race, stopping in Singapore and then embarking on the sixth race to Qingdao. And then on to Yokohama, Victoria, Panama, Curacao in the Caribbean, New York and Jersey before finishing in Liverpool in July 2006. The race partners for Uniquely Singapore Yacht are Sentosa Cove, PSA International, Keppel Corporation and Team Singapore together with STB have prepared a whole host of festivities that promises all visitors a Uniquely Singapore experience!
