More People Catching the Taxi
Singapore is home to a combined total of about 24,000 taxis operated by seven transport companies. According to the Land Transport Authority, between June and August 2009, there were 840,000 passenger trips per day. Which is a record low since the 2003 SARS outbreak. But since September 2009, daily passenger trip numbers have gone up to 870,000 passenger trips per day. With the year end festive holidays and the opening of the integrated resorts, taxi drivers said they are expecting a continued increase in the number of passengers. A piece of good news for Taxi operators and drivers.
