Sengkang Community Library was officially opened on 30 November 2002.  The library is Singapore’s and probably the world’s first DIY (Do-It-Yourself) library where more self-service equipment were introduced to help library users.  The tenth shopping mall library under the National Library Board's network, Sengkang Community Library has a floor space of 1,809 square metres and is located at Compass Point shopping centre. It serves the North East areas of Jalan Kayu, Punggol Central, Punggol North and Punggol South.
